Squall buried his face against Seifer’s neck, still panting. Seifer’s sweat slicked skin was hot. He could feel the sweat on his own back drying prickly in the cool breeze from the open window – the sweet scent of jasmine and honeysuckle was stronger now, the night air seeming to enhance every one of their senses.

The soft light was perfect, making Seifer’s blond hair seem to glow. Squall stroked the bangs out of Seifer’s eyes gently before he finally moved to Seifer’s side. It was almost too good to be true, Squall often thought, that they of all people were together and happy and good. Seifer watched him, heavy lidded eyes showing just how close to sleep he was.

“I want platinum,” Seifer murmured. His hand flexed, his thumb rubbed against his ring finger.

“Anything.”

Seifer lifted his head. “Really? You’re not going to ask why? Just say yes like that?”

Shrugging, Squall wiggled high enough to kiss the palm of Seifer’s hand where it lay on the pillow. “I figured you’d tell me your reasons. I like to listen to you almost as much as you like to talk,” Squall teased. Seifer’s arm flexed in warning and suddenly Squall found himself pulled to Seifer and tickled to breathlessness. “I give! I give!”

“Bitch. Platinum. It’s worth more, it’s elegant and it’ll get you asked less questions than gold. Besides, you’ve never been a gold kind of guy.

Pulling Seifer’s hand up and pressing his own to it, palm to palm, Squall found that Seifer’s hand was only a little larger. An almost indiscernible difference in finger length. “No, not gold. We’re worth platinum.”

“With your job we should probably get titanium or something.”

“Anything, I told you.”

Seifer moved his hand just enough to be able to grip Squall’s, their fingers entwined. “You’re really serious about this. Hyne.”

Tipping his head to look at Seifer over their hands, Squall shrugged. “Why wouldn’t I be? I told you, I’m in love with you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”

“Squall,” Seifer murmured, all bravado disarmed, all front gone just like that. “Damn, I know I said we’d look back on that date in ten years and laugh but it’s still hard to believe this is real.”

“That you’re lying in bed with me naked, happy and uninjured. That we’re holding hands. That every inch of you aches because of really good sex…,” Squall chuckled to himself, kissing Seifer softly just once. “Mmm. I think about that a lot.”

“It’s weird how much you change when you’re nicely drunk. Talk to me like this more often, I’ll never laugh at you for it,” Seifer pulled the covers around them both, snuggling to Squall so that they were forehead to forehead. “Not much. Not when I feel the same.”

“Platinum,” Squall smiled, pulling Seifer’s arms around him and wrapping his own around Seifer.

“Perfect.”
